Greetings Citizens. We are living, in the age, in which the pursuit of all values other than, Money, Success, Fame, Glamour; Have either been discredited or destroyed.
Welcome to New York City, present time. Constantly busy, always moving, always awake. Sure it seems normal for a big city, but there's something growing. Something else that's constantly busy and moving. We call it the Club Scene.
It's full of bright colors, loud music, drugs, sex, and various other things. Club kids, as what they consider themselves. They're constantly high, constantly drunk, constantly happy. They may be ruining their bodies, but they sure are having fun doing it. It's like Halloween everyday, except so much better. Instead of candy, there's Ecstasy. Instead of dressing up to be scary, everyone's dressing up to be Glamorous. Instead of stomach aches, there's Overdoses.
Well you'd think the Club Scene would be loads of fun right? Partying and dancing, who doesn't like that? Well nothings ever as it seems. With the drugs, there comes ruthless Drug Dealers who will do almost anything to get their money. With dressing up, there comes a lot of attention and you're not always considered 'family fun'. With the Overdoses, those who manage to survive, often end up in Rehab or Prison. Well that doesn't stop the Club Kids. Not at all, they could care less. Even now, they're starting to corrupt the students of one of New York's better schools.
Thompson Academy, school for the gifted. Sure it seems like a normal private school. Gorgeous decor, talented students, strict teachers. But not all is as it seems there as well. Not too far from the school happens to be one of New York's best clubs, Plush. Well Plush just happens to be heaven for Club Kids. Sure there's security guards at the school, but that doesn't mean students can't sneak out. When Plush first opened, it didn't seem like it would be any bigger than any of the other clubs. Well that was until the Club Kids deemed it as Club Heaven. Well when the students started to hear about this Club Plush, they began to get interested.
Club Plush was declared off limits for students, as it was considered Hell to the teachers of Thompson Academy. Sex, drugs, and violence is never something a proper student should get mixed into. But Club Plush was just so appealing to most of the students. Well now some of the Club Kids are bringing in underage students into their Heaven, and now Thompson Academy is missing more and more students each month.
Will the Teacher's fight back and get Club Plush shut down? Will the Club Kids win all the souls of the students? Or will the cops have to bust in and start putting people in prison and rehab?

The heart of the pride has been shattered, their noble King lay dead in the gorge. That wasn’t the worst of the problems that now consumed each and every lioness in the pride. It is the King’s right to kill off any cubs he deems unworthy, since obviously, most of these cubs are his dead brothers. What is his evil plot now? Newport Harbor. The name may or may not be that recognizable, but it is a small town located in the southern California town of Orange County. When you here 'Orange County' you might think glitz , glamour , white sand beaches , parties , scandal , and drama. Much like the hit television show .. right? Think again.
In Newport Harbor, everything is flipped upside down. Celebrities come here to escape from it all. They may be screwed up and have secrets, but they come here to settle down, live lives and have families with people just like them. Or just to get away from the paparazzi and have a significant other without having it headlining InTouch Weekly or People Magazine. Newport Harbor. Where the abnormal people that you see on television are just normal people living life.

The hardest thing about seeking out help was the separation and that self-unforgiving feeling of feeling helpless - meaning he was unable to solve his lover's problems on his own. One of Ethan's crazier antics was that he always wanted to be that 'happy spouse' who solved all the problems with a snap of his fingers. Reality was such a cruel cruel thing. That notion of feeling helpless felt as if his innards had been pulled out and strewn everywhere only to get one last fatal swift kick to the stomach. Graphic, yeah, but at the same time, it took a graphic scenario to really explain how he felt right now. What good was he of a spouse if all he did was dig his lover deeper and deeper into misery? That was the last thing he wanted to do. It was difficult for Ethan to see his lover like this. He was really kicking himself for letting his own habits get the worst of him. For the love of God - Alcohol?? He swore he'd never touch the stuff in fear of becoming what he detested most, his father. Now, it seemed that he had become his worst nightmare. It was fortunate to William that Ethan hadn't gotten the violent gene of his father's - else Ethan would have never been able to bear living itself. Hurting William physically... The mere thought of being capable of that sickened Ethan to no end. Ethan would never forgive himself if it came to that. Just before he left, he went to reach for his pack of cigarettes in the cupboard. Cigarettes weren't outlawed in CNH, but they were an addiction of great evil to Ethan. He sighed and instead reached for a pack of gum. He popped a peace into his mouth and half-grinned. Well, at least there was that distraction. Strawberry-Mint, not a bad combo at that. He had become quite a gum addict these days.
Ethan flashed back to the instance that William had gotten beaten. Ethan had been there because he had just been leaving a doctor's appointment and he had been hanging out with a friend of his who worked at the hospital. Out of nowhere, paramedics had barged in with William on a gurney. Ethan squeezed his eyes shut painfully at the memory. When he opened his eyes, an odd wet sensation had been felt on his hand. Ethan looked down at the mini puddle formed on his hand with a sad smile. There had been a point where Ethan hadn't cried in five years. Now, he was as emotional as the next pregnant woman. 'Wow Ethan, way to be such a vagina,' he mentally chastised himself.
Ethan had reluctantly resumed to his work, composing songs and lyrics for his band. He always was such the accomplished lyricist in his band. It seemed odd though. For a period of time, all he could write about was emotion through nature. It first started with a circus-victorianesque theme. Now, it was all linked to emotion, maturation, and nature? Well, just imagine if his songs started turning to death and dreary emo? Ethan really needed to get himself together before this mess cost him his job. There were already tabloids out to get William and Ethan. He was racked with guilt that he had to pull the love of his life into his own mess. William was an innocent bystander who had gotten bludgeoned upside the head by a blunt object known as the paparazzi.
This suicide attempt had shown that Ethan really wasn't in his typical state of mind. The sane Ethan would have never thought of doing this to those loved ones. The last time that Ethan had thought of suicide was before William. That era seemed long ago. Ethan instinctively reached into his pocket for a cigarette before he had realized that he had purposely left the pack on his dresser. Part of him was too weary on this constant battle, the other part really wanted to go back to the old days. He wanted to go back to the days of innocence, before fame and fortune had consumed both he and William.
His therapist had done well to show how selfish suicide had been, and had also claimed that the cigarettes were just as selfish. Ethan knew of his health and how the second-hand smoke household hand probably led his asthma to the point where it had been today. The only thing he'd be doing with that addiction would be to further aggravate it. Did Ethan really want to be on a lung transplant list at the age of 30? At the same time, did he really want to follow in his father's footsteps with drinking. His father's drinking and abuse had been what had really broken up the family household. While Ethan wasn't physically abusive to others, it was similar, the damage he had done to himself. For that, Ethan had a ways to go. He felt lost as he found himself longing for his lover's safe embrace.
Ethan had come to a rude awakening when they had been distributed to different places. It was as if they were bad influences on each other? What kind of marriage was this that badly influenced the other. Ethan's initial thought was that perhaps he should save William from further pain by putting an end to this. He deserved so much better. At the same time, Ethan was such a selfish motherfucker. He couldn't see life without anybody but William. Without Will, he was reduced to that vulnerable suicidal teenage boy. Ethan reassured himself that William was in good hands. At the same time, he yearned to be able to be by his side once more. Ethan swallowed a rising lump on his throat, though nearly jumped out of his skin when he felt a stroking against his face. He exhaled sharply from that shock, though a hand gently held the hand that had caressed him. "Will," he murmured, closing his eyes for a moment, smiling softly. He opened them, looking so pitiful and guilty, but at the same time, pleased to see his lover. "Hey love... I've missed you." He squeezed his husband's hand reassuringly and looked at the view ahead. "The water...gives me a lot of memories... good times... good times."

~*~Who Are You?~*~ Full Name: Tobin Noel Davis Baxter Age: 29 Birthdate: December 12, 1979 Birthplace: Zaragoza, Aragon, Spain Hometown: Phoenix, Arizona Picture: Height & Weight: 6'3", 190 lbs. Hair Color: Brown Eye Color: Brown Physical Description: Tobin fits the traditional mold of tall, dark and handsome, although he doesn't seem to realize it. He's always been very athletic, having played soccer throughout his school career, and so he does have a good bit of muscle on his body despite how thin he appears to be. He has a rather large scar on his left knee from having reconstructive surgery for a torn ACL his senior year of college, which effectively ended his soccer career, as well as various smaller scars from years of minor injuries during games. Play By: Alex Suarez Style: Style isn't particularly a big deal for Tobin. He doesn't really have to dress up for his job, so he mostly goes around in jeans & a tee shirt; he really doesn't look all that different from the clients at CNH, except that he's probably a little older. A lot of his shirts are from soccer teams & tournaments when he was in high school and college. He also has some newer shirts from the local high school, where he's an assistant soccer coach.
~*~All The Little Details~*~ Personality: Tobin's personality is fairly serious. He had to grow up fairly quickly simply because he had such a huge family and he had to take care of himself from a young age. This ended up making him very driven, and he worked hard to get the grades he wanted as well as making the starting lineup on his soccer team. He doesn't tolerate laziness in others, and he refuses to let his past injury get in his way. Tobin does his best to help others deal with their problems, although he does know that there are some people he can not help simply because they do not want to admit they have a problem. The closer it came to the time when William was supposed to get up and meet Ethan by the lake, the more fidgety he became. It wasn't all withdrawal from the painkillers, though that was a factor. He just couldn't stay still very well, he wanted to go see him and fall at his feet and beg for forgiveness. Various doctors had told him that would do nothing except guilt Ethan and he didn't want to do that, but he couldn't believe he had let himself fall so low as to become addicted to unnatural chemicals. How did he know they hadn't been tested on animals? How did he know they didn't contain trace amounts of animal products? How had he somehow 'magically' known a few more Vicodin wouldn't kill him? He still had ten minutes until he was allowed to leave though so he lay on his back on his bed and threw his arm over his eyes, crying silently. This was all his fault, it had to be. He could have been strong and stayed off the painkillers like Ethan had. The mad doctor had to know some herbal remedies for those injuries. But somehow . . . things hadn't worked out the way he wanted them to.
His therapist had told him that he wasn't used to the effects of the medication because he had never taken it in his life, and that if he hadn't been beaten so violently this never would have happened. The guy seemed to be suggesting that he should have somehow defended himself against the gay-bashers, like pacifism was a bad idea. He had tried to talk them out of it but there was no getting through to them when they were so intent on hurting him. He only wished he could somehow have gotten away, taken another way home or something so Ethan wouldn't have had to suffer through seeing him in the hospital.
He was also a little afraid that he would never be able to go back to his job after what had happened. He wasn't really the first choice for bare skin body shots, but he was popular when it came to face shots and now with the cuts and scrapes he had gotten from the pavement scarring, would they even want him anymore? These thoughts depressed him a lot both because he knew if they didn't accept him back he wouldn't be able to help Ethan out anymore and because all his hard work building up confidence to even take the job would be for nothing. He was already starting to lose his self-esteem again and the pills only helped at the height of their effectiveness. Though stoned confidence probably wasn't that real.
He had also made a mistake when he had found out Ethan had attempted suicide again. He hadn't followed suit because that wasn't his style. But he had probably made the boy feel really bad about what he had done. It was a good thing because that meant Ethan would think twice next time but it was bad because he hated making his husband feel that way. It was just impossible for him to hide the hurt that had caused in him, even when he had compensated for the grief with a little too much medication. Around this time was when he realized how dependent he really was, that he couldn't even find his calm center anymore without help from outside sources. It was very disheartening for him because he had so easily been able to slip into a meditative state before. Even now, off the drugs and going through rehab, it was incredibly difficult for him to find the quiet part inside himself that he used to retreat into.
He realized as he came out of his thoughts that he had stopped crying and the tears were drying on his cheeks and on his arm. Sitting up woozily, he sat on the edge of his bed for awhile and looked back at it. Not so long ago he and Ethan were sharing a bed, or at least a mat, but now they were in different rooms because of something about them being bad influences on each other. He guessed now things were a little safer so that they wouldn't hurt each other emotionally, which cheered him a bit. Forgoing shoes, he walked out of the cabin and over to the little copse of trees near the lake, so much like a beach they used to frequent back when they were dating and before Ethan had made it big. The memories of that time almost made him cry again but then he spotted Ethan and the tears dried up. He looked a lot better than he had, but he could tell from the way he was sitting that he was still not where he had been before regarding emotional stability. Biting his lip as he approached, he sat silently next to his husband, so that he was on his right but still facing him, crosslegged as he usually was. He reached Ethan's face and brushed away a soft lock of hair that had drifted down the man's forehead before speaking. "Hello love," he said gently, looking at him with earnest eyes, wanting him to know this time he wasn't medicated or abusing anything. He couldn't do that to him again.

'I can't believe I went along with this,' Ethan had thought as he stared off to the horizon of the lake. Of course he had gone along with this. When it seemed that his marriage, the thing that mattered most to him, was growing strained because of both of their problems, a mutual agreement to seek out help to work out their issues was made. William had to lay off of the pain medication. Seriously, what was his addiction to them? Then again, Will never had really experienced the euphoria of morphine and vicodin until he had endured the injuries from that horrific beating.
The sad thing was that Ethan had hardly noticed that William was growing so dependent on the medication. Never having really been fond of pain medication, he really didn't think to pay attention to his husband's behavior. They had money and prescription pills were easily sold on the streets. Then again, Ethan had been growing dependent on alcohol at that point. He was probably too smashed to even notice... Yet at the same time, it felt as if this wedge was growing between the two of them. It was crazy, given that the two of them had been inseparable since they had met back in high school.
After Ethan's suicide attempt, it was obvious that there was definite suffering. At the same time, there was immediate remorse, especially when he had seen the look in William's eyes. Even when slightly glossy and vacant from whatever pill he had happened to find, there was still hurt and betrayal there. Ethan was supposed to have been beyond the depression years ago. He was happy and successful in his dream of being a musician. William had finally realized that his looks were one to behold, and he had made a living that way... Male modeling, who knew? There was no doubt in that in Ethan's eyes... William was breathtakingly attractive.
But there had been future betrayal. Ethan had never been a fan of pain medication. Actually, this pain he felt in recovery from the injuries sustained in the attempt was refreshing. There was just something about that pain that made Ethan want to stay away from alcohol, just so he could feel it... No pills... Pills were evil... Yet they kept disappearing nonetheless. It didn't take Ethan long to put this together. William had fed his addiction with his spouse's prescribed medication. Wow, the both of them had really started to sink to new levels.
Ethan stared at the horizon of the lake and half-smiled as he sat down and leaned back against a tree. He pressed his knees to his chest and lowered his head. 'Don't cry... not again... God damn, you're more emotional than Belle - and she's pregnant for the love of god.' Ethan laughed at the same time that a tear slipped from the corner of his eye. Women were crazy... But damn - lately he was as emotional as one... It bothered him that he had to go back on the antidepressants like old times. He really thought the down days were behind him... What a load of bull that had been. But at the same time - being away from the stress of the outside world really made Ethan realize how much he wanted to get better. He didn't want to lose William out of his own stupidity. At the same time, he could only hope that his husband could see the light and try to get better too. Here, he realized how much he missed the old William... Just - he had been too drunk to realize that this old William had been missing...

The Whole Damn World is just as obsessed With who‘s the best dressed and (who's havin' sex) Who‘s got the money. Who (gets the honeys) Who‘s kinda cute and who‘s just a mess
Taunton Boarding School is one of the most highly respected schools in America. The school was founded in 1872 and for centuries the school and it's pupils excelled in everything. Taunton was always known for maintaining a high standard of education, with it's pupils passing with straight A's in all of their exams and the students excelled in the extra-curricular activities the school had to offer.
Taunton was a one of a kind, no other school in the district taught students who loved to learn and worked to the best of their ability. Staff would have killed for a job in the boarding school and those who managed to get a job, loved every second of teaching. This magnificent era of Taunton quickly disappeared when the 21st Century appeared.
The new students who entered the school didn't take well to discipline and following orders, unlike the previous years. The staff were forced to toughen up on their students in order to get them back into line, but the students merely refused to listen. As the years went on, the behaviour of the students grew from unruly to horrific and many of the staff quit their jobs as they weren't able to cope with the youths.
In the present year, the students are officially out of control. Teachers struggle to discipline the youths and many have given up after years of trying. The pupils have arranged themselves into different 'cliques' and are constantly fighting with one another. The Headmaster of the school rarely spends anytime in Taunton and when he's around, he chooses to simply stay out of the teenage drama's that regulary occur in the school grounds.
Since the students choose not to listen to any authoritive figure, they've taken over the school. Instead of being forced to stay in school grounds all of the time, the youths often visit the town on weekdays and weekends. The students have also found ways of bringing drugs and alcohol into the school grounds and the staff are too afraid of the violent youths to do anything about it.
The staff are afraid of the students. The students are going insane with power. The Headmaster is no where to be seen. The seperated cliques are constantly fighting with one another. The old Taunton doesn't exist anymore, it's changed completely and that's not a good thing. Can anything be done to calm these teenagers down?
Taunton Boarding School: It's just a whole bucket of dramatic fun.

Some people say that at the right time during the full moon, a whole other town appears in the middle of a Tennessee forest. No "normal" people have ever been in there, though. It's like there's a magical forcefield around it or something.
That's because the city of Oracle is just for freaks. It's a place where vampires and faeries can be on the same sports team, where humans and werwolves can be the best of friends, and angels and demons can have sex under the bleachers during a pep rally. Not only that, but almost every person in Oracle seems to have additional powers... Not to mention the ghosts that roam the hallways just like regular students and professors.
Despite the supposed unity that Oracle Academy advertises, the different species don't always get along. Hell, some completely hate each other. These are rivalries and friendships that have existed for centuries, and one little town is probably not going to fix that just yet...

~*~Didn't Come From Nowhere~*~ Family: | Mother | Marjorie Flowers (nee Stewart-Baxter) | Father | Steven Flowers | Siblings | Robert Flowers | Other relatives | Lucy Fisher (nee Stewart-Baxter) - aunt Thomas Fisher - uncle Jeremy Fisher - cousin Alice Cumberdale (nee Flowers) - aunt Jonathon Cumberdale - uncle Hubert Cumberdale - cousin pets; none History: William was born in a slightly altered environment; a commune of all places. His parents were both hippies who had "been born after their age", and both lived in a commune among many others who shared their beliefs. It was almost a cult, but the participation stopped just before that. It was the perfect communist state; everyone took care of each other without question or expectation of reward. It was just seen as natural and no one ever questioned it.
Growing up in this environment, the young boy experienced a different view of the world than most of his peers. While most of the children he knew outside the commune saw the world as a wary, dangerous place, he couldn't see anything to worry about. Of course this made him look rather naive, but at the same time it gave him a confidence a lot of his peers didn't have. He wasn't afraid to approach people who looked like they were in need, despite their appearances or their personalities, and usually succeeded in cheering them up with his innocent sort of charm.
Still, his parents and the others in the commune (who he also considered parents) decided that he shouldn't go to the school and get tainted by the other children, so they homeschooled him, letting him play and explore for most of the day while teaching him the obligatory maths and sciences in the evenings. Through these experiences, he learned to love art and music and performing for the others in the commune, especially when his younger brother was born and joined them.
The years passed too swiftly it seemed, and soon enough William was in his early teens, going through puberty and the rebellious stage. During this time he lobbied his parents to let him go to "normal" school and eventually won that right, attending middle school like everyone else. Never had he expected all the hate. Besides his somewhat unfortunate last name, he also had his somewhat delicate and feminine appearance, both of which gave bullies plenty of deep and painful targets to hit.
Needless to say, he was soon regretting his decision to attend public school and warned his brother against going. Luckily his brother took it to heart, so William was the only one who had to suffer. Still, through all the bullying he never spoke up, not wanting to spark anger or derision from them. Instead, he took the emotions out in his art, creating beautiful but somehow sad pieces and almost immediately destroying them unless someone was there to save them.
This sort of thing continued to high school, where he was labeled an 'art geek' and dismissed as a stereotype. Though high school was better because there were others like him, and he soon befriended these other people, acting as mediator for their arguments and comforting when they were down. Soon enough he had developed deeper feelings but didn't show them, not sure if they would be accepted or not in the normal world. After awhile he found out that they were accepted, by some people at least. He ended up graduating from there and at the same time finding the love of his life in a man named Ethan Bennett. They were married soon after becoming engaged and Ethan managed to make it big in music, a longtime passion of his. They were at college in NYC by this point, which meant the artistic environment was very rich. Will himself was enrolled as an art student when agents and art teachers began to notice his natural grace and good looks. With a little encouragement he finally decided that he could be a model and help make more money so they could be more comfortable than they already were.
He never turned completely gay for any of the models there, being insanely loyal to Ethan, but he did end up making a name for himself. However, his fame was noticed by people who shouldn't have known and on a normal walk from one of the agencies to his commune he was attacked by a small gang of angry men who beat him into unconsciousness before bystanders intervened to stop the 'gay bashing'. He was sent to the hospital and was in a coma for four days before waking up. At that point it took him awhile to fully come back to himself, and the pain was excruciating because the men had broken most of his ribs and hit him hard enough to leave large, deep bruises on the rest of his body. They had also inflicted a hard enough blow to his head to knock him out for so long. Obviously, his modeling career was over for awhile.
With the help of therapy and some very dedicated well-wishers, he recovered, but something hung onto him that he didn't expect. Having never really done anything addictive, he found that he now had an unnatural want for some of the painkillers he had been on while recuperating. He was smart enough to know that people would not approve of this and so took to hiding what stores he had, mostly of opium-based painkillers and vicodin. It was all too soon that he ran out of the prescription but there are other ways to get drugs, which he soon enough found. After the assault, he left school completely and tried to find jobs with environmental or lobbying agencies but was always too distracted to look long. Eventually, loved ones noticed and he realized this himself, but he discovered that Ethan had developed an unhealthy addiction of his own.
Things came to a head during Ethan's 22nd birthday party, when he disappeared for a bit and then William discovered him attempting suicide. This was obviously very traumatizing for both of them but Will by now knew the way of the hospital and unfortunately was given easier access to what he was addicted to. Still, he took care of his spouse and it was when Ethan was out of physical therapy that they decided to check themselves into CNH, figuring that it was better to be there together and healing with each other as support.

~*~RP Sample~*~ It felt to William like the day had gone on forever. He hadn't really been upset or anything, it was just one of those days that seemed to go on for days in itself. It was hard to explain, but he couldn't believe how long it had taken until it was actually night. Needless to say, he was looking forward to some sleep, and maybe just a little bit of random relaxation time.
Following the schedule he had learned to follow at the commune, he took his time to calm down, laying on his back in the middle of the room and looking at the ceiling, almost meditating but not quite. There were always little slivers of thoughts flitting through his mind that he couldn't seem to get rid of no matter how hard he tried, and despite all the encouragment the people here gave him he had never managed to pull it off.
Still, the attempt made him relax, and so he lay there quite still for quite awhile before getting up, stretching and then laying on the mass of blankets he called his bed, curling up and soon falling asleep, all his thoughts and worries leaving his mind as soon as his eyes had closed.

flowers, ethan aaron « Result #11 on Jan 31, 2009, 1:08am »
~*~Who Are You?~*~ Full Name: ethan aaron flowers (nee bennett) Age: 22 Birthdate: July 10, 1987 Birthplace: Las Vegas, Nevada Hometown: Preston, Maryland Picture: Height & Weight: Just shy of 6 foot in height. In regards to weight, one could say he's more on the thin and lanky side. Many have told him his figure is just fine, though he is very self-conscious of how thin he is. He's the type that can eat a lot and not gain a pound (fast metabolism). He also isn't the most 'ripped' sort given that he isn't one to be much into athletic activity. But he tries to be fairly toned in regards to arms, legs, and abs - this conditioning is done with kickboxing and weightlifting - though his endurance in athletics isn't really great - like in terms of lung capacity and such. Hair Color: Brown, often medium-to-short in length. In hair texture, it is straight, and slightly on the spiked side when stylized (though not gelled-spike). One could say his hair is more along the 'emo' style in the way that his bangs often drape over one eye, though he'd hardly call it 'Emo.' He claims it's a look that screams him, and is known to occasionally let his hair grow longer to the medium length. Though lately, it's been more-or-less shorter. In the way his hair frames his face, it's almost as it's some perfect fit for the facial shape as he has a somewhat more fine construction of a face. Eye Color: His eyes are brown in color, often giving off this appearance of 'puppy dog eyes.' Perhaps that's why he masks these wide-eyed innocent expressions that he uses often when fooling around and having a good time with friends. Sometimes, he has a tendency to reach for the eyeliner, though often for musical performances (local ones of course, though he hopes to make it into the big times one day). Sometimes during the day, he reaches for the lighter eye makeup, though he loves to go all out for occasional performances. Physical Description: Ethan is definitely categorized along the tall and slender side of things. He has managed to keep himself toned and not looking sickly by means of this hobby of kickboxing, an idea that was placed into his head when he first had gotten into the public eye, as 'no person would idolize a sickeningly thin looking rock icon.' He has inquisitive brown eyes that seem to always give way of his mood. They contain a lively spark when he's in an excitable mood, though they become dull in those sullen moods. His eyes are probably the most prominent facial feature of his. Play By: Ryan Ross Style: Favorite articles of clothing involve Hooded sweatshirts, Tshirts, and jeans. Though, there are those random occasions where he might dress up a bit, meaning dressy pants, or perhaps the occasional button-down shirt. He loves accessories, particularly fingerless gloves, scarves, and hats, and the occasional silly trinket that he might find, i.e. (usually to joke) gaudy huge sunglasses, etc. When performing music, he might go all out in costuming, those costumes tending to go along more cabaret-style of performance costume. Eye makeup is a particular favorite when in performance attire. There are some occasions where some simple makeup might be applied to his eyes on an everyday sort of style.
~*~All The Little Details~*~ Personality: Outwardly initially, he is a serious individual, with much intellectual ability, which can explain why he has skipped a grade in school. When trying college, he keeps on top of studies, though he has a tendency to draw away into his own daze, lost in his thoughts. Perhaps an outsider might see this as some form of him being antisocial, but it is hardly that matter. Ethan is just one with a hard exterior who tries to show little or no emotion around outsiders in fear that someone might sense weakness in him. Though to allow a jump in his music career, he's put his college career on hold.
Inwardly, he is the artistic type, that definitely sees his present and future in music. He had long talked of such dreams and aspirations, though he feared extreme closeness to just anyone in fears of his dreams being stomped on, a feat he knew his father had tried to do since the very beginning. He has a tendency to be detached from society mainly because he knows little on how it's like to see compassion, being raised in a household where it's almost some sense of survival of the fittest. There is some sense of anger, sadness, and guilt to his persona, though it takes a very close person to distinguish the true reason behind that aspect
It took Ethan a while to break from that shell and open up to another, though in his final year of high school, Ethan met someone who had made him open up in an entirely new way. This new Ethan is more the extrovert around those in his 'familiar circle.' People in this 'circle' see Ethan as zany! He isn't afraid to make a total fool of himself, therefore doesn't hold back on a good time. He's serious and devoted- when he wants to be. Though he is constantly active, and not quite willing to let life get boring. Music is an absolute passion! Orientation: homosexual (it took years to admit bisexuality, and even some time later to this point to realize that he was never really 'bi' but in fact 'homo.' Likes: +Music +Playing Guitar +Singing +Listening to music in general >>>Rock >>>Oldies >>>Classical >>>Celtic +Writing +Poetry >>>Closely linked to his music along the area of writing songs +Short Stories +Reading +Edgar Allen Poe - favorite poet of all time +Drama/Theater >>>Though he's not much of an actor himself, given that he is a horrible liar. He enjoys to watch though, and musicals are definitely good things to curl up with a bowl of popcorn to watch +Art >>>He's not extraordinary, but he's good enough to keep on top of advanced art classes. His real talent lies within his music and writing. Art is still an intense interest though. +alcohol (particularly rum-related drinks and drinks that his father didn't drink when beating him.) Dislikes: -Shallow-mindedness -Arrogance -Prejudice -Nosy people (ethan is really private about his personal affairs) -Violence against others -The Military -Alcohol (mostly scotch, whiskey, brandy, everclear, and vodka - any alcohol that reminds him of his father) -Aerosol/Smoke/anything that irritates the lungs. Habits: -When nervous, is likely to bite nails or lower lip. Also, he has a tendency to ramble typical random phrases that might baffle any new person around him. Also, he might have this tendency to tug on a lock of hair when on-edge. Wringing his hands is also a sign that he's nervous. -Typical habits might include this uncanny habit of reaching over to flip hair away from someone's eyes. Ethan has this belief that eye's are the windows to the soul, and often tries to read a person through their eyes. Plus, weird antic, he finds the unique eyes of each person a fascination. When it comes to romance, eyes are a definite weakness of Ethan's. Strengths: +Writing +Playing Guitar +Singing +Art +Kickboxing Weaknesses: +addictive personality - old habits die hard. One reason he's landed here was this addiction to alcohol, one he swore he'd never pick up. It's sad that he's a third generation alcoholic - but he shows effort in wanting to break out of this habit. +depression - he has a history of depression and still has those dips in his mood. +physical health - his asthma that has plagued him since childhood still plagues him to this day. As a result of long years enduring severe asthma, he now has a restricted lung capacity and scar tissue buildup in his lungs, and excessively thin/thick air really seems to affect him. Doctors have told him that around middle-age, he might have to resort to a lung transplant. +Will - his lover, his soulmate, his husband by canadian law. If anything bad were to happen to Will, Ethan would just fall apart. Perhaps he's a tad much of emotionally obsessed with William.
~*~Didn't Come From Nowhere~*~ Family: l Mother l Elaina Annette Worthington-Bennett - deceased His mother died when he was two years old. He hardly remembers his mother, though claims that he could almost remember some sense of security from that early age. What is known is that she had become ill shortly after his birth, dying two years later, and that she was raised in the United Kingdom, coming to the United States when she was roughly sixteen years old. He doesn't like to dwell on the fact that his mother died so early in his life, perhaps because in some sense, he blames himself, some inner guilt that lurks about from time to time.
l Father l Lt. Colonel (retired) Fredrick Ray Bennett Ethan's father, a retired marine and war veteran. He is is a very alienated man who has a tendency to know more about a bottle of liquor than he does of his only child. There was the occasional moment where the two would quarrel, often resulting in Ethan having bruises which he covered up with his favorite choice of clothing... Hoodies. When he was seventeen, Ethan gave his father an ultimatum, emancipate him or he'd go to the cops with the information about the abuse. He emancipated his son. Since then, there are occasional run-ins, but there has long been a distant wedge between the two.
| Siblings | He has no siblings, and often turns to his friends to be the siblings he never had.
| Other relatives | +Spouse William Flowers Ethan's true love, someone he met his senior year of high school. In the spring vacation of their senior year, the two married in Canada, a place that upholds the law of 'same-sex marriage.' Even though the United States does not recognize this marriage, Ethan is adamant at upholding this marriage of theirs. Just because it's not on paper in the United States, doesn't mean that it isn't in mind and spirit and soul...
+Cousin Andrew Ellison He has a cousin who is one year older than him, though since he skipped a year in school, they were in the same grade. He often went to this cousin when needing some form of guidance as this person seemed to be the only one he can turn to when in need of advice, having more of an in-depth understanding about the abuse issue. This cousin is related by Ethan's mother's side (Ethan's aunt (mother of this cousin) is his mother's sister). Though, the year he met William and emancipated himself, Andrew came into some drug-related problems. There has been some sort of emotional wedge between the two since.
+Aunt Cassandra Abigail Worthington-Ellison, aka "Aunt Cass" This is Ethan's mother's last remaining blood relative, being her older sister. (other than her child). She, like her sister, was raised in the United Kingdom, being twenty years old when she came to the United States. (Yes she has a bit of an accent there) She is a physician who married a prominent attorney, so her family income is quite vast quite frankly.. She has but one child. She is a compassionate person, and the physician who has dealt with Ethan's problems, whether it be health problems, or the more serious injuries induced by her brother-in-law. She is quite protective of Ethan, so clearly, she and Ethan's father do not get along in the slightest. She notices that Ethan struggles from time to time, so she's always there, helping him up when he needs it the most. She sees much of her late sister in her nephew, and encourages him to behold his talents and ambitions. She divorced her husband, Charlie, about a year ago, following some affair she had with a close mutual friend of hers and William's
+Uncle Charles James Ellison, aka "Uncle Charlie" Father of Ethan's cousin and recent ex-husband of Aunt Cass. He is a prominent attorney who was also a close friend of Ethan's mother before he married Cass. He, too, is quite fond of his nephew, and understands the connection that his ex-wife has with him, and tries to help in all he can in any way. Even though Cass and Charlie are no longer married, Ethan still looks up to the guy in a special way.
History: Ethan was born in Las Vegas, Nevada- though only lived there until he was four years old. Since then, he has moved at least five times. His father is a war veteran in the military, which could explain Ethan's discontent with anything military. In short, he doesn't get along with his father and would rather drop dead than to end up like him.
Ethan's mother died when he was two years old, as she fell ill shortly after he was born. He has no memories of his mother, but could swear that he remembers some sense of security of her presence somewhere in the deepest crevices of his memory. His father seems to somewhat blame Ethan for his mother's falling ill, given how soon she fell ill following his birth.
In addition to that matter, Ethan had always been along the sickly side (more along the fact that he suffers from asthma) of others his age, so he isn't exactly the epitome of masculinity that his ex-marine of a father was in his early days. Perhaps what adds to Ethan's guilt that he probably plagued his mother with illness is the fact that in drunken rages, his father tends to blatantly press the blame of her illness on him, having dropped Ethan's sense of self-respect for himself as this in essence hits some nerve.
Rather than being the boisterous male that belongs under the category of jock, Ethan has never been able to be the type to keep up in the strict athletic regime, so he's turned to other interests such as writing and the arts. He is quite good at writing poetry, and is quite the theatrical person. In addition, he possesses a passion and a great talent for music, primarily playing the guitar, with having a decent voice, though lacks confidence in his talent for singing. He enjoys to write poetry, convert them into lyrics, and write his own songs, a project that he often works on, hoping to one day make it into the big times in music.
This ambition for the arts is another place where father and son disagreed. His father saw this love for arts as more of a pansy-assed trait, and 'no son of his is going to end up some damned faggot pansy.' Though, it is revealed that Ethan's mother was quite the musician and dancer. Though Ethan isn't much of a dancer, music is definitely his one true ambition in life. In essence, he believes that through music, he keeps the memory of his mother in spirit, dedicating every whim to her memory. As Ethan's father disagrees with Ethan's ambition for music, he does little to fund Ethan's hobby. For this reason, Ethan started out employed at a music store, where with a decent salary and a great discount, he supplied his needs, being quite the self-sufficient teenager. His aunt was very supportive of this ambition for music, and still continues to support Ethan to this day, so she also tends to help him with what support he might need.
Senior year had made many changes in Ethan's life. It was this year when he had met William. It was also this year where he came out as bisexual. This did not work well between father and son. He was beaten nearly to death. As a result, when Ethan regained sufficient strength to go over to his father's home, he demanded to be emancipated. Spring break of senior year, he married his lover along the Canadian coastline of Ontario - at a place where this type of marriage was sanctioned.
Ethan was awarded a full-ride scholarship to NYU, where he studied for a year, double-majoring on music performance and creative writing. A month into his second semester, he started to get recognition for his musical endeavors. Pretty soon, he made his big break, coincidentally around the time that his husband had been getting recognition for male modeling. He decided to put college on old, and from then on, his music career skyrocketed within this band of friends he made either in college, or in high school through his job at Noteworthy - the local music store of Preston's.
Although at the age of nineteen, rising rockstar stardom was great, there were also habits that were picked up. As Ethan noticed his husband going through own personal break-downs of his own, he began to wrap himself up in his music, crawling back into this shell of his. He discovered alcohol in a new light, and unconsciously formed this addiction to alcohol and smoking, which started to take its toll on his health and mental-well being. A sense of self-loathing set in just as Ethan realized he was becoming what he dreaded and despised most - truly his father's son. He was twenty-one when it became blatantly obvious that there was a clear problem. He and his bandmates agreed that between albums (they released two) and tours (there had been two big tours) - a break for Ethan to seek out help to sort himself out - and a break from major spotlight while they continued to write lyrics on the side - was decided.
Ethan procrastinated seeking out help for about a year. Though, when it became evident that his own spouse was dealing with personal problems of his own, Ethan started to lean more on the alcohol to 'numb' him from reality. During his 22nd birthday party, Ethan had excused himself from the party, though a couple of hours had passed before people noticed that Ethan wasn't around. It was William who had gone up to check on his spouse, and he had found that Ethan had in some 'desperation to escape' fashioned some noose from bedsheets and had tried hanging himself by launching himself out the window. Though the sheet had become untied and Ethan had fallen two stories and succeeded to crack his skull in the fall, along with slipping disks, which went unnoticed until Ethan started to feel pain along his back. It took a couple surgeries and physical therapy to get him back to normal. Following this spell, it was most definitely decided that he'd pursue help alongside his spouse, who also has come forward that he wishes to overcome his own issues. The love of these two is strong, perhaps overcoming great obstacles as this could show them to be even stronger. ~*~RP Sample~*~ (oh my - Ethan was an angry teenager)
Quote:
In a typical middle-class home, there seemed to be the usual shouts between father and son. This was nothing out of the ordinary for the Bennett family, as the two often found one another in these type of situations, especially when father seemed to be drunk off his ass. In the finale of the shouting match, there seemed to be a bit of destruction as some lamp happened to fall, probably in a struggle where son managed to escape from father but not without son being doubled over for a moment, catching his breath after a swift kick to the stomach. Though, this perhaps ended where his fist met his father's jaw, knocking him out temporarily. Meh, this was nothing new, he'd be up in a few hours, forgetting all that had happened by morning.
Ethan Bennett glared at the now blatantly snoring form of his father on the ground by the couch before turning around, storming up the stairs, the bathroom door slamming shut as he pulled off his shirt to reveal a mark that would soon form quite a bruise. He lightly pressed his hands against the swollen area, surprised that he hadn't had internal bleeding by now. "Drunken bastard," he hissed under his breath as he proceeded to remove the rest of his clothes, stepping into the shower to wash away the stench of spilled scotch from him. When finished with the shower, he stepped out, glancing at his reflection as he clung his towel around his waist. Shaking his head, he stormed out of the bathroom, and into his room, where the door slammed shut and then locked. He proceeded to get dressed before laying sprawled on his bed, trying to think of something to get his mind off things. He had about an hour to kill before he had to go to work.
Reaching for his trusty guitar which rested by his bed, he winced, noticing that his knuckles had been significantly bruised, probably in the impact on which he decked the old man. He seemed to erase every negative feeling as his fingers seemed to find the chords, moving along the frets as he sang softly, almost wishing that he could disappear, be any place but here. Then again, at least he could chill out at work for the next few hours. Business was usually dead these days, so he could just take his homework and chill out there. Perhaps he could volunteer to stay through closing, his manager knowing he was the type to never want to go home.
The time to get ready to go to work came, and Ethan happened to glance at his clock, placing his guitar back into its stand for the time being. He'd be back later to bask in his musical glory. For now, he had to make money, and also buy some replacement strings as he had a feeling one would break soon enough. He sullenly reached for his book bag, making sure his books were in tact. With a swift reach for his keys and wallet, he was out of his room. As he bounded down, he noticed the old man still out like a light, though snoring, a sign that he would wake up in a while. He picked up the half full bottle on the ground, carrying it out with him. "fucking drinks," he muttered, pouring it in some random plant before he tossed the glass bottle in the trash outside. He climbed into his car, one his aunt had bought him when he turned sixteen, despite the bitching of the old man. Turning on the ignition, he shifted gears, easing his foot off the brake so he could pull out of the driveway. In a blink of an eye, he pulled out and disappeared around the bend of a corner, heading to work, a pleasant getaway.

Since have humans walked the earth, so have other creatures. Creatures that most believe to only exist in myth. Creatures like vampires, demons, werewolves, witches, shape-shifters, fairies, and elves. It’s not really known which came first, for it was too long ago to remember and anyone alive then is now dead, and they didn’t even leave a ghost for anyone to ask. Ghosts weren’t around since the beginning, they came after the first person died, human is what is believed. Though not everyone or everything that dies becomes a ghost, only those who choose to, become one. Choosing to become a ghost is rare, most don’t choose that path for themselves, but even rarer than that has been times when all the species have gotten along. To this day, there have only been three periods of time that there has been peace between them all. The most recent of those three periods was just around 500 years ago, when a special school was built for all the species to come and learn at. It was built as a kind of peace treaty among the species, a place for them to all live in harmony, for a certain period of time at least. The school was called Forevermore Academy.
The peace treaty didn’t last for that long though, soon the kids in the school were fighting which broke the treaty. The teachers tried to bring the students back together, but they did so in a way which some believe made things worse, while others think it was genius. They deiced to get a group of students, at least one from each species, even a ghost, and have them kill off the trouble makers, in whatever way that they pleased. And they wouldn’t get in trouble for it. It was suppose to make the students stick together so that they wouldn’t be the ones killed off and to stop the ones causing trouble among the species, and in a way, it worked. But like all things, nothing works out exactly as planned. Some kids decided to fend for themselves and actually started causing more problems, but they were quickly killed off. The group of kids in charge of the killings fashioned themselves the name of ‘The Execution Squad’.
Since then the killings have turned into more of a game, and there is always and Execution Squad roaming the halls, but no one ever knows who they are. If someone does find out one of their true identities, they are either killed or scared into not telling anyone. Though the only ones who ever find out are ones that actually survive the game, since that’s what it’s turned into. It’s a game for those that don’t value living, who are causing too much trouble, or someone on the Execution Squad just doesn’t like, play for their life. It’s extremely rare that someone survives the games, for they normally have to do something that they would never want to do and they die instead of doing whatever it is that they don’t want to do. Humans tend to die the most though, for they are the ones normally chosen, even if they do make up the smallest percentage of the school.
Everyone knows about the games, even if it’s not something they tell you upon arrival. And it’s definitely not in the little school pamphlet that you get when you enroll. No, they want people to come to their school, and telling them that they might not make it out alive isn’t a way to get them to come to the school. Here at Forevermore Academy, it’s a whole different high school. It’s life or death, and you might just be stuck here forevermore.

O'Casey, Riordan Shea « Result #14 on Jan 26, 2009, 9:11pm »
~*~Who Are You?~*~ Full Name: Riordan Shea O'Casey (Rian) Age: 21 Birthdate: October 3, 1987 Birthplace: Limerick, Ireland Hometown: New York City Picture: Height & Weight: 5'9", 175 Hair Color: Brown Eye Color: Brown Physical Description: Rian isn't overly tall or large, but he does have an athletic build from years of playing soccer. He keeps his hair rather long and it sort of curls. Rian also dislikes shaving, so he can usually be seen walking around with a bit of stubble. As far as any distinguishing marks, Rian has a lot of scars from years of being abused by his father, including a rather large burn on his back and a scar from having the bones in his left arm pinned back together. The only other major scar is on from the surgery on his left hip after his accident, although that one is still in the process of healing. Play By: Hunter Thomsen Style: Rian tends to dress similarly to his bandmates (and most band guys in general), although his clothes tend to be looser and more relaxed fitting than their wardrobes. He wears a lot of band t-shirts and loose jeans, generally with a pair of Vans or Converse when he isn't running around barefoot. When it's cold, he usually wears an old leather jacket he got in a thrift store on top of his regular clothes and he occasionally throws a long-sleeved t-shirt underneath his band shirts. Otherwise, he only wears a St. Christopher medallion his grandmother gave him and occasionally a pair of black plastic-framed glasses when he doesn't feel like putting in his contacts.
~*~All The Little Details~*~ Personality: Rian has always been more on the serious side, at least as far as his schoolwork and hobbies go. He’s always been very dedicated and hardworking and has done exceptionally well in school, although his grades have suffered recently because of his poor attendance record. This has probably contributed to his talents with music and art, because he has always been very good about practicing. Some people might misunderstand his seriousness and label him a geek or possibly even obsessive-compulsive, but it’s more of a learned trait than his actual personality. Failure was never an option in his home; his father refused to accept anything less than Rian’s best, and Rian was always afraid to disappoint the man because of his violent personality.
Rian has been rather socially awkward for most of his life; when he was living in Limerick, he had few friends and didn’t really have anyone he could hang out with outside of soccer practices and school. He didn’t live in Florence long enough to actually make any friends. The only real friends Rian ever made were in Norfolk, although he’s lost contact with most of them. He has a hard time talking about things anyway, and his life in the past few months has been so difficult that he hasn’t felt up to actually trying to keep in contact with anyone. Most of Rian’s social problems stem from his father’s abusive behavior and Rian’s attempts to conceal the bruises and other injuries. He can’t bring himself to confide in other people even now, after
Because of his difficult relationship with his father, Rian has never learned to understand what a healthy relationship really looks like. While he has lived with his grandmother in the past, most of his life has been spent in the worst possible family situation and that has affected him a great deal. Love doesn’t mean much to Rian – his father used to always say that he loved Rian, but the man’s actions never showed the emotion he supposedly felt. In some ways, his relationship with his father could be blamed for most of the problems Rian has now. Orientation: Asexual (this is something that Rian is still trying to come to terms with) Likes: ~Music, but specifically playing guitar, violin, and piano. ~Football (aka soccer – he lived in Ireland until he was twelve, so he still tends to slip in such colloquialisms) ~Synge’s Playboy of the Western World ~Grieg & Salieri ~Shepherd’s pie ~Walnut Whip & Aero bars (the candies he grew up on are the few things that Rian actually misses about his home country) ~His guitars (a Fender Malibu SCE Acoustic-Electric that his grandmother bought him for his 13th birthday, and the Fender Stratocaster Liam bought him when he moved to New York) ~His violin (it belonged to his father’s mother, and was given to him when she died when Rian was eight) ~Drawing Dislikes: ~His father ~Alcohol/drugs – he doesn’t even particularly like drinking the communion wine during mass ~Being dependent upon other people ~Himself for being so weak and allowing others to influence him to make poor choices ~Being in pain ~Putting himself out there by allowing his songs to be performed - he doesn't like it, but allows it because he sees it as being the right choice for the band ~Not being able to control his anger when he's depressed ~Not being able to control his depression Habits: ~Rian writes or draws whenever he gets upset or nervous – he’s already finished panels for at least three graphic novels, and is about halfway through with a fourth (although he’s never shown them to anyone before), and he's filled multiple notebooks with poetry, prose, and song lyrics ~Rian flinches when he hears anyone begin to raise their voice - it's something that is left over from his father's abuse ~Rian’s accent becomes much thicker when he’s upset, and he tends to use more of the slang he grew up on – on occasion, he will even slip up to the point that he ends up speaking in Gaelic ~Rian tends to come off of his medication when he is writing lyrics for a new album because his lyrics tend to be better when he's depressed Strengths: ~Drawing – Rian has been drawing cartoons since he was eight, and he’s gotten quite good at it ~Music – because he’s always been big on practicing, Rian is also very good at the instruments he plays, even if he can’t play at the moment ~Soccer ~Writing - Rian is the primary lyricist for his band ~Rian speaks Gaelic fluently – his father insisted that he learn the language and speak it at home with his parents Weaknesses: ~Rian has a hard time controlling his emotions in stressful situations ~Rian isn't good at talking with other people because he was never able to really confide in anyone while his mother was alive ~Rian can’t quite grasp the concept of lust – it’s an emotion he’s never experienced because of his orientation – and it causes some problems with other people his age because he doesn’t understand it himself ~Rian tends to distrust male authority figures because of his relationship with his father – Liam is an exception because Rian’s known him for a long time and has grown to trust him
~*~Didn't Come From Nowhere~*~ Family: Erskine O’Casey (father), formerly a police officer and security guard, before he was arrested for murder & child abuse Onora Kelley O’Casey (mother), deceased Catrina Donohughe Kelley(grandmother), retired school teacher (she has Alzheimer’s, so she can’t take care of Rian) Liam Donohughe (2nd cousin/guardian), restaurateur & club owner History: Rian was born as the only child of Erskine and Onora O'Casey on October 3rd in Limerick, Ireland. Unfortunately for Rian and his mother, Erskine had inherited the Irish tendency to drink too much, and he was a violent drunk. His father's binges often sent both Rian and his mother running to avoid the flying fists and strings of curses set off by the alcohol. Rian learned at a young age to avoid the man when he came in smelling of liquor, but he was always small and a bit of a slow runner for his age and often wasn’t able to get out of the way in time. He had bruises almost constantly, but he and his mother were careful to cover them and no one really suspected anything. But that was the worst thing they could have done.
When Rian was old enough to begin school, his mother was quick to enroll him in piano, guitar and violin lessons in order to keep him out of the house as much as possible. When Rian was seven, his father was fired from his job as a police officer for drinking while on duty and Rian’s mother was forced to take on more work as a seamstress to keep up with the bills. Rian’s guitar lessons had to be dropped, even though he was doing well on all of the instruments. Rian began doing some small odd jobs around the neighborhood to earn a little bit of extra money to help out, as well as a way to stay out of the house as much as possible, and continued to practice his guitar whenever he got the chance.
Erskine stopped drinking when Rian was eight, but his temper didn’t really improve all that much. While the angry outbursts occurred less often, they were far more frightening simply because they weren’t provoked by alcohol as they had been in the past. Once he was sober, Erskine was able to get his job back and he stayed sober for several years, until Rian was twelve. After watching his partner be shot in the line of duty, Erskine returned to his old ways. This time around, however, he was careful not to drink while on the job and managed to keep the fact that he’d started drinking again from his superiors so that he wouldn’t be fired again. The violent outbursts began to happen even more frequently than they had when Rian was a small child, and after six months he was sent to live with his maternal grandmother in Norfolk, Virginia.
Rian loved living with Gramma Cat, as she preferred to be called. While she wasn't a "normal" grandmother, Catrina Kelley proved to be a good influence on Rian. Under his grandmother's guidance, Rian began attending mass again (something he had fallen out of practice doing shortly after his First Communion), and even began to play piano during the services. He also joined the soccer team, the choir, and the orchestra at his school, doing well in these new activities. And for the first time in his life, Rian was genuinely happy.
This all changed, however, when Rian's father once again lost his job for drinking and his parents decided to move to the United States because of a new job. At the end of his freshman year of high school, Rian was forced to move back in with his parents. It was only made worse by the fact that he was now almost totally alienated from all of the friends he'd made in Norfolk.
Rian’s first (and only) summer in South Carolina was rather uneventful, at least for him. His father had stopped drinking yet again, only this time he also kept his temper in check. But that changed rather rapidly, after the job he’d moved to Florence for ended rather rapidly due to downsizing within the company. The drinking began again, and the abuse was worse than ever before. By Rian’s fifteenth birthday, he almost constantly had to hide bruises and other injuries from his teachers and classmates. He was quickly branded as strange at school, and didn’t have many friends because he tended to keep to himself to avoid accidentally letting anyone see what was going on. By the end of the month, Rian had quit going to school most of the time to avoid the stares and odd looks he received. Not that it really mattered much; by the second week of November, Rian’s life had changed for good.
It started off as a typical Tuesday evening; his father had come home from searching for a job, once again with no luck, and immediately settled down with a couple of beers. Only those couple turned into six, and then twelve, and it was soon too late for anyone to escape the man’s violent wrath. Rian woke up in the hospital a few days later, completely oblivious as to what had happened after his father had started getting angry. It took various different people to fill in some of the more important blanks for him, but only a few of the things he was told really stuck. His mother was dead, and his father was in jail awaiting sentencing; the man had confessed to his crimes and plead guilty upon realizing all of the horrible things he had done.
As soon as Rian was well enough to leave, his mother’s cousin, Liam, flew down from New York to pick him up. Because of his grandmother’s Alzheimer’s, she was no longer an appropriate guardian and Rian couldn’t go back to Norfolk to live with her. Liam had already packed up most of Rian’s things when he’d come down to visit while Rian was still in the hospital, because the arrangements had already been made. Rian spent two weeks at home before he was enrolled in a small, private high school in the city. Unfortunately, Rian was too far behind to get his grades up enough to pass, and so he was held back in the tenth grade for a second year.
The only good thing about going back to school for Rian was that he had a chance to make new friends. Once the cast came off of his broken arm Rian went back to playing all of his instruments, and a band made up of his classmates quickly recognized his talent. Rian was quickly asked to join the band as a replacement for one of the guitarists, who was moving out of the city with his mother. Rian even started writing lyrics, something he hadn’t done since his mother’s death. A few months after Rian joined the band and they began using his songs, they started gaining recognition from people who really mattered. An A&R rep from a record label came to one of their shows and was so impressed that he started working to get the boys signed. Rian turned sixteen two weeks before the band signed a contract with an independent record label. The band went into the studio during Thanksgiving break, and before school was out for the winter holidays, they had a record. The boys all dropped out of school so that they could tour, determining that they could finish high school during their breaks from touring. Starting in February, the band hit the road in a van, opening up for various other bands. They were well received, and continued to move up the bill. Their first record sold moderately well, and before the touring cycle for that record ended they had their own small headliner.
Touring was hard on Rian. ON top of the usual homesickness that all of the boys shared, Rian also had the insecurity associated with his lyrics being performed in front of others. He felt vulnerable putting himself out there for everyone to see each night, and the stress ended up bringing out the worst in Rian. He had been having trouble with depression ever since his mother’s death, but it got worse towards the end of the touring cycle. And as his depression worsened, so did Rian’s temper. By the end of the tour cycle, all of the guys needed a break from dealing with Rian and the band took two months off before going back into the studio. During that time, Liam forced Rian into therapy and he was put on Prozac to control his depression and, consequently, his anger. It worked, and by the time they went back into the studio Rian was pretty much back to normal..
The band’s second album went well, and was well received. Rian turned nineteen a few weeks after they went back out on tour, and things seemed to be going well at first. But once again, the pressures of touring took their toll on Rian and his depression returned despite the medication. Rian eventually stopped taking his pills, and things got even worse. The anger returned, and Rian got into several fights with various people during the tour cycle. During their last tour before going back into the studio, Rian was arrested after a particularly severe altercation. All of the charges were dropped, but the damage to Rian’s reputation was done. The band dropped out of the remainder of that tour and Rian was encouraged to go back into therapy. He was put back on medication, and again it seemed to work. Only this time, Rian realized that what he wrote while medicated was shit. Luckily, he had enough written before he was medicated to start on a third record.
The band got halfway through recording their third album, before Rian’s twenty-first birthday changed everything. Rian’s bandmates threw him a large birthday party, and even managed to convince him that he would be okay if he had a couple of drinks. Rian was halfway through his second beer before he realized what he was doing, and he flipped out. Rian hated alcohol, and couldn’t believe that he’d actually had any to drink. After a serious fight with his bandmates, Rian left the party and drove off. His anger and the alcohol were a dangerous combination, and the rain that started as he was leaving only made things worse. Rian didn’t notice a sharp curve, and his car ended up wrapped around a tree a few hundred yards off the side of the road.
When Rian woke up the next morning, he was trapped in his car and unable to move. His car had been spotted shortly after daybreak by a state trooper, who had been surprised to find that he was still alive. Firefighters and other emergency workers had already surrounded his car, working on freeing him from the twisted wreckage. He was only briefly conscious, just long enough to know that he didn’t remember anything from the night before. Rian lapsed in and out of consciousness over the next several days. When he was awake, the only thing he could acknowledge was pain before he was once again knocked out by the high doses of painkillers. It was nearly a week before Rian was coherent enough to understand the severity of his injuries. His right collarbone was cracked, as were several of his vertebrae. There was also a concussion and multiple broken ribs, as well as a fractured hip. But Rian was lucky; the injuries to his back hadn’t caused paralysis, and once he had surgery on his hip and gave it time to heal he would be able to walk again.
Rian had the surgery the next morning, and then spent two more weeks in the hospital before he was released into the care of his cousin. Rian’s accident put the band’s recording at a stand-still, at least until he was well enough to return to the studio with them. After a month of healing, Rian and his bandmates went back into the studio. But the accident had done a good bit of damage to Rian’s mental health as well as his physical health, and his depression was back with a vengeance. He began taking double doses of his medication, on top of the high doses of painkillers he still used to deal with the pain from his injuries. The band managed to get their album recorded, but before the process was completed everyone was worried about Rian’s behavior. They saw the beginnings of addiction in his behavior, and knew that something had to be done. Without Rian’s input, it was decided that the album’s release would be delayed.
Within a few days of finishing in the studio, Rian’s bandmates and friends confronted him about the amount of medication he was using. The intervention didn’t go well. In the typical fashion of an addict, Rian denied that he had any sort of problem and refused to believe that there was anything wrong with his behavior. His anger over the entire situation drove him to take even more medication than he normally would have. Luck was once again on Rian’s side, and Liam found him passed out in the bathroom. He was rushed back to the hospital, where his stomach was pumped. Rian finally realized what everyone else had been trying to tell him, and he agreed to get help for his problems. The band’s manager arranged for him to go to Camp New Hope as soon as he was back on his feet. What brings you to Camp New Hope? ~*~RP Sample~*~ Rian sat down at the empty cafeteria table, setting his backpack in the chair next to his own and unzipped the main part of his bag so that he could pull out the sketchpad he’d brought to school with him. It wasn’t the one he’d been working in with his most recent storyline; this book was more of a journal than anything else. It had started out as just a drawing pad, but he’d started scribbling other things in there as well and it had become something more. It had become the cache for all of his secrets. If anyone else ever found the notebook… it would be pretty bad for Rian.
Rian got his pad out and flipped it open to the last page he’d been working on before pulling out the en he’d been using to darken the image he’d sketched there a few days earlier. It wasn’t anything big; just a simple practice drawing of a character he was thinking of adding to the story he was working on. Drawing was one of the few things he could still do, even with the cast on his arm, and he’d spent all of the time he would have normally spent practicing his instruments working on his drawings instead.
School had been difficult to come back to; after missing nearly two months and transferring, Rian was really far behind. And as much as he needed to be working on getting caught back up with all of the things he now had to learn on his own, he wasn’t really in the mood. It was overwhelming to even think about what had to be accomplished in less than a month, and that was the last thing Rian wanted on his mind in the short time he had away from teachers and classrooms during the day.
